Do you have a young child that would love to put just about anything into their mouth? I do!
I am constantly on the alert as to what my toddler will find on the ground and sequentially put into her mouth. I am always on the lookout for things she can learn and play with while not giving me a heart attack!
Playtime should be fun and not full of “no! Don’t put that in your mouth!” Ideally this will be an enjoyable time for you AND your child.
Building blocks are popular among a wide range of age groups. Younger children like toplay with bigger blocks (like Mega Bloks) while older children like to build with smaller blocks (like Legos).
These categories can also be expanded to adults who are still children at heart;)
**Among the many roles I fill I am a mother, aunt, and former elementary school teacher. I have had the opportunity to work with many children in a large variety of settings. The things I share will be based on my experiences in these roles.
My Experience with Mega Bloks
My daughter got her first Mega Bloks on her 1st Birthday. Fitting, right?! They came with a little car whose roof and interior allowed her to stack her blocks.
She first enjoyed taking things apart that I stacked for her and now she is beginning to try to stack things herself.
She loves to play with a variety of toys and I enjoy helping her figure each of them out.
She is starting to explore things more and now has an interest in stacking and building things, not just knocking them down.
